This is my first attempt at colour pencils, done last year. when i scanned it in the colour seems to have faded somehow.
Do colour pencils fade?

Pencil drawing, around 4 hours. source from Nat Geo. They have beautiful photos!

yes, colour pencils do fade after a while, and they can smudge…
well I’m glad that you’ve used colour pencil for your first drawing, because it was from a children’s story book am I right? Colour pencils can have a very soft feel which you have achieved, and this aptly reflects that the picture is meant for children.
As for the second picture, I love your detail (particularly because I’m a detailed-oriented person too). The detail of the shell, and your excellent use of contrasts in tone make it look even more realistic and delicate. It would have been better if the snail’s skin was smoother, and the pencil line’s totally invisible to imitate the texture of the animal, because that would have brought it to a higher degree of photo-realism.
But nevertheless, fantastique!
