This is pretty interesting: simple but good! I like how you used streaks and arrows to divert the viewer into looking at the star/pass9n. But I think the font (june camp 08) could be a bit more dynamic. Yep, would be even nicer if it were in colour! (:

HI JING YING!

I am appalled by your effort for spending so much time on these drawings! :D
I like the way you present the details of the house. The corrugated exterior, the wire fencing thing at the bottom and the railings. The shadings and the toning of the house (coloured version) is realistic and I feel that your choice of colours are appropriate.
However, I did spot an error in your depiction of the front stairs on the porch. They look like they are slanting to the left instead of heading straight out towards the viewers. Also, the right and left most pillars on the porch are not balanced. Maybe shift the right most pillar slightly more to the right. It will look much more balanced.
Overall, nicely and neatly drawn houses, as well as great effort!

yes, colour pencils do fade after a while, and they can smudge...

well I'm glad that you've used colour pencil for your first drawing, because it was from a children's story book am I right? Colour pencils can have a very soft feel which you have achieved, and this aptly reflects that the picture is meant for children.

As for the second picture, I love your detail (particularly because I'm a detailed-oriented person too). The detail of the shell, and your excellent use of contrasts in tone make it look even more realistic and delicate. It would have been better if the snail's skin was smoother, and the pencil line's totally invisible to imitate the texture of the animal, because that would have brought it to a higher degree of photo-realism.

But nevertheless, fantastique!

What's wrong with your design?i think its cute and simple. and blue is a good choice. Too many people use red and black that its becoming too boring. However, I don't like the green circles around the words. I would be more effective and simple if it is just words on graph paper:)
